It all begins with our roots. My grandmother, also known as popo, grew up on a chilli farm in Malaysia, where some form of chilli oil or sambal was always on the table. That tradition travelled with our family, showing up in every kitchen and every meal. Mama Yu is our way of bottling that feeling and sharing it with you.

We started small - a small online drop in 2022, just a handful of jars. It sold out fast. That's when we knew this was something worth going all in on. Today, every batch is still made the same way: by hand, in small batches, with the same care and the same recipes that have been passed down through our family for generations.
